Jill Fox, PhD, Director of the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) presented at the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) International Convention in Atlanta. The yearly convention drew more than 6,500 attendees from around the world.
Fox and Tracy McGee, Director of English Language Services at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, co-presented Validating Your English Program on a University Campus, highlighting the ways their programs have established themselves on their campuses beyond just their intensive English programs.
Fox and the IELI Instructors support non-native English speaking undergraduate, professional, and graduate students, medical residents, and faculty in teaching and learning English language & culture, and retention. IELI instructors also teach an online class to train English teachers who teach for Jesuit Worldwide Learning, and host a summer English language and pedagogy program for K-12 teachers from Ecuador.
