Dr. Sade Kosoko-Lasaki presented “Promoting Physical Activities in Churches: The Omaha REACH Experience” at the Balm of Gilead Healthy Churches 2020 National Conference in mid-Nov. 2017. Cardiovascular health disparity in African Americans in Omaha was addressed and the approach that Creighton University’s REACH program has collaborated with community members to reduce this disparity. Physical activities have been promoted through the training of 56 lay-health ambassadors, the development of new policies, change in the system and environment (PSE) at 12 churches, public housing sites, middle schools and at Charles Drew Health Center.
