“So sometimes you can negotiate with your children,” Dr. Kim McFarland, Chair, Community & Preventive Dentistry at Creighton University said. “‘Rather than having three pieces of candy you can have two pieces and some of those healthy snacks so you also get one healthy snack and one or two not so healthy snacks.’ It teaches children good habits early.”
