The Creighton University Diversity Coordinating Committee requests nominations for the John P. Schlegel, S.J., Diversity Awards for Excellence & Innovation. The nomination deadline is Friday, Dec. 23.
Award Objectives: To recognize and celebrate innovative and/or effective initiatives to support and advance diversity on the Creighton campus.
Award Categories: One award per category is given each year (indicate which category on the nomination form). Award categories are:
- Academic/administrative unit-led diversity initiatives
- Individually developed diversity initiatives
- Diversity-related scholarship
Eligibility
- A plaque and $250 is awarded to recognized individuals (diversity-related initiative and scholarly achievement) and administrative unit (diversity-related initiative). Awards are presented during the University’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Celebration.
- Individual awards for diversity initiatives or diversity-related scholarship may be awarded posthumously.
Selection
The Selection Committee of the Creighton University Diversity Coordinating Committee reviews and selects the finalists for the awards.
