Keegan Published in Victorianographies

Bridget Keegan, Ph.D., professor of English, had her article “Incessant Toil and Hands Innumerable: Mining and Poetry in the Northeast of England” published in the University of Edinburgh journal Victorianographies 1.2 (2011): 177-201. The essay is based on the keynote address that she gave at the “English Rural Diasporas” conference last April at the University of Loughborough. It will also be featured in her next book project, tentatively titled, “The Occupations of Poetry: British Laboring-Class Writing 1700-190.”

The research for the article was undertaken in association with Keegan’s participation in the Humanities Research Group, headed by Greg Zacharias, Ph.D., of the Department of English.
