The Creighton University Department of Fine and Performing Arts and the Joslyn Art Museum are proud to present “A ‘Fine’ Exploration of Music in Art,” presented by Frederick Hanna on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2 p.m., Joslyn Art Museum, Abbott Lecture Hall.
We are often comfortable talking about “The Arts,” but such a term obscures vast differences in the production and study of music, art, and theater. By looking at some works in the Joslyn collection that have music as their subject, this talk looks for common ground and potential bridges between art, fine arts, performing arts and the arts, and contrasts the depiction of music in art versus music as its own art form.
