60 Second Lecture Series: Responses to Global Crises

Global crises seem to have increasingly become incorporated into our lives. These situations have presented opportunities for aid and intervention and also for minimal involvement. In light of recent events, such as the current famine in Somalia and the earthquake in Japan, we ask: What guidelines do we, as a society, utilize in making our judgments about global crises?

The next 60 Second Lecture will take place Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Harper Center, room 3027.

The speakers for the event are:

  • Roc O’Connor, S.J., Department of Theology
  • Chris Pliatska, Department of Philosophy
  • Zara Risoldi Cochrane, Pharm.D., School of Pharmacy and Health Professions
  • Tim Nendick, Resident Advisor, Cortina Community
  • Eric Hansen, President, Honors Program Student Board
