New Creighton Pharmacy, OT, PT Students to Don White Coats During Professionalism Ceremony

On Friday, Sept. 9, more than 300 first year students enrolled in the campus pathways leading to the PharmD, OTD and DPT degrees are expected to participate in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions main Professionalism Ceremony to be held in St. John’s Church beginning at 9 a.m. Similar ceremonies were held for the Distance Pharmacy Class of 2015 on July 27 and for the Distance OTD Alaska Class of 2014 on Aug. 10. At each ceremony, new students receive a copy of the Oath of an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist or Pharmacist and the Pledge of Healthcare Professional together with your classmates. Speakers from the faculty and current student body are selected to reflect on what it means to be a professional in health care and students are encouraged to invite any close friends or family who will be in the Omaha area to attend. The campus community is invited to participate. The Professionalism Ceremony is an uplifting and joyous beginning to Creighton students’ lives as health care professionals.
