Backpack Journalism Screening

This past summer 14 students and three professors from Creighton’s Backpack Journalism program went to Uganda. They documented the effects of a 20-year civil war and how the Church strived and continues to build peace. Recurring themes that came up in many of the interviews were justice and reconciliation. This is what “Mato Oput” means in the traditional language. A screening will take place Wednesday, Sept. 14, in Criss 252 at 5 p.m. The 22-minute film will be shown then the backpack journalism students and professors will answer any questions about the trip. Donations will be collected and given to Ocer Campion Jesuit College, which is currently run by a Wisconsin province Jesuit.
