“Merry Wives of Windsor” and “The Nutcracker” Auditions

“The Merry Wives of Windsor” Auditions: The Department of Fine and Performing Arts is holding auditions for the fall production of “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” a Wild West romp based on the play by William Shakespeare and directed by Alan Klem, associate professor of theatre. Auditions will be held Aug. 28 and 29 at 7 p.m. on the Mainstage of the Lied Education Center for the Arts. Please try to attend the Sunday audition. Details: scripts or parts will be available for actors to read; no memorized auditions are necessary; parts for 10-14 men, at least four women and four to six children; and two scripts are reserved in the Reinert-Alumni Library under Alan Klem’s name. “The Nutcracker” Auditions: The Department of Fine and Performing Arts is holding auditions for the fall production of “The Nutcracker.” The auditions are for children ages 9-14 only. Looking for party children, mice and soldiers, and “Mother Ginger” dancers. Auditions will be held Saturday, Aug. 27th, in the Lied Education Center for the Arts, Dance Studio. For children ages 7-10, auditions will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. For children ages 11-14 (must be under 5’4″), auditions will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please wear ballet attire. Rehearsals begin mid-September and will mostly be held on Saturday mornings and early afternoons. Performances will take place at the Creighton University Lied Education Center for the Arts on the Mainstage from Nov. 30 through Dec. 3. Two additional performances are scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Wilson Center for the Performing Arts in Red Oak, Iowa (transportation and meals provided to the cast for the “day” trip).
