As floodwaters continue to rise along the Missouri River, Creighton University is doing its part to help some young people affected by the flooding. Throughout the end of June and early July, Creighton will provide housing for campers from the Salvation Army Gene Eppley Camp, located in Bellevue. The camp’s center has been flooded with water from the Missouri and Platte Rivers. Creighton has or will be provide lodging for the camp sessions June 27-July 2 and July 5-8. Almost 200 youngsters attend each camp. The campers will get an opportunity to stay in a residence hall and experience the college atmosphere. The Gene Eppley Camp is a nonprofit Christian camp owned and operated by the Salvation Army. During the summer, the Salvation Army hosts low-cost camps for families and children.
