As an academic success consultant, I support medical students in the areas of academics, professionalism, career and life. I represent the School of Medicine in Phoenix on the Alliance Wellness Executive Team. I also contribute to faculty development by creating content and providing administration for JADE, Jesuit Academic Development and Education.

Why do you love your job?

My job brings me joy every day! I love watching the students grow through meaningful experiences, such as academic success, community engagement, research projects, leadership roles and ultimately matching into residency programs. I especially enjoy the opportunity to connect with students individually to support their journey through medical school. I love being an advocate for students and encouraging them to be their best selves. I am grateful for the leadership team and colleagues I get to work with every day.

Why are you proud to be part of Creighton University?

The Creighton University community embodies the Jesuit principles while being inclusive of all faiths and persons. I am proud to work at an institution that values servant leaders, cares for the whole student and encourages them to make a difference in the world.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Hiking, standup paddleboarding, yoga, technology and growing plants

What kind of volunteer service do you do?

I am a wild keeper for Keep Nature Wild, a national organization of nature lovers that is dedicated to cleaning up the planet, sustainability and education, and I enjoy helping pick up trash with others. I am also a trail steward for the McDowell Mountain Conservatory, providing guided hikes, safety patrol and information to all that use the hiking trails in the McDowell Mountains.

What do you like about the new Creighton University Health Sciences Campus – Phoenix?

I love our new building because it brings elements of nature indoors, giving you the feeling that you are outdoors. I appreciate all the collaborative and individual student study areas throughout the building. The chapel is also a beautiful, inviting space.
