  • Flower Darby’s Keynote and Faculty Workshop (Noon to 2:15 p.m.)

The EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership Program is pleased to invite the Creighton faculty community, along with fellow AJCU network faculty to attend a keynote address by Flower Darby, author of Small Teaching Online. Flower’s keynote, Faculty and Student Wellbeing Online: New Motivation for Virtual Teaching Excellence will explore some of the feelings of disconnectedness faculty and students experienced especially this year. Her talk will remind us, as faculty of AJCU institutions, of the value and importance of our work to help us reinvigorate our online teaching with small, practical strategies to support both our and our students’ success in our classes. Join us to gather some new energy, new ideas, and most importantly, new motivation for doing our work well.

Please join us for Flower’s keynote and stay, if you wish, for a virtual, one-hour workshop, Winter Wind Down: Care for the Whole Professor. Open to all faculty across the AJCU network, this workshop will provide an opportunity to share space with our Jesuit colleagues and explore how we have collectively navigated the surprises—some more disruptive than others—that 2020 presented. We will share opportunities for continued pedagogical and andragogical excellence and explore how to care for ourselves and each other as faculty moving into the new year.  Small Teaching Online is available to read through the Creighton Library

This two-part event hosted by Creighton University’s EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership Program is supported by the inaugural Creighton University President’s Distinguished Curriculum Innovation and Pedagogical Research Grant Program.
