The Spiritual Exercises and Call to Justice in Jesuit Education

The Schlegel Center for Service and Justice recruits, forms and sends the Creighton delegation to the Ignatian Solidarity Network’s Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice each fall and helps students engage with social justice throughout the year. This year (Oct. 19-26) a large delegation of students, faculty and staff will attend the Teach-In as a virtual cohort due to the pandemic. We pray for justice in our world and it’s important to remember that our Catholic, Jesuit mission is committed to a faith that does justice.

Once again, Conversations Magazine leads us into a deeper understanding of how the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola continue to form us.  This excellent article by Julie Dowd helps us understand the Spiritual Exercises powerful connection to justice.  May the Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice be a significant force in the life of this year’s participants.
