Share the Journey: Migration Weekend Experience (Sept. 25-27)

Join us for this virtual weekend experience as we build community, listen, learn, reflect and advocate with others from Creighton.
Registration is now available and more details can be found at

Join the SCSJ in collaboration with our community partners in Omaha, at the U.S. – Mexico Border, Washington, D.C. and Nairobi, Kenya.  Participants will explore the history, context, and current political realities of people seeking safety and refuge around the world.  Ending the weekend, participants will reflect on and consider next steps, including advocacy, in response to the signs of the times.

Our format will include invited guest speakers and small break out groups. Small groups will have the opportunity to get to know and connect with peers at Creighton. (We will have some fun built in as well: trivia, cooking, walking and even optional yoga) Groups will digest, discuss and reflect on the content over the course of the weekend will include Ignatian Advocacy and social analysis.

The international Jesuit network has encouraged local communities to participate in their “campaign for hospitality” as local communities receive, welcome, protect, promote and integrate migrants. We know that immigrants and refugees experience hostility in communities as they flee and even upon arriving to their new homes. With more forcibly displaced than any time since World War II, join us to listen, to learn, to reflect and to act for a more compassionate local, national and global experience.

Open to all Creighton students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
