Coordinated Residence Hall Check-Out Begins for Students

20190729_cc_4015In a coordinated effort to follow national and state COVID-19 guidelines limiting public gatherings to no more than 10 people, students began returning to campus by appointment-only starting Wednesday, March 25, to collect items they may have left in their residence hall rooms and complete the check-out process.

A sign-up form was sent to student email accounts on Tuesday, March 24, allowing students to arrange a date and time to return to campus to pick up their personal belongings.

To begin the process, Residential Life has directly reached out to students in McGloin and Swanson halls, arranging appointments for them to retrieve their belongings by March 31. If those students are unable to make that deadline, Residential Life will be packing and storing their belongings.

Students in other halls can continue to schedule check-out appointments through Creighton’s Housing Portal, and should monitor their email accounts for updates as additional instructions regarding check-out and apartment transitions are made available.

Residential Life is confirming with families in advance of check-out to ensure that the latest travel guidelines, and state restrictions, are being followed. Check-out times are subject to change given the rapidly evolving nature of national, state and local responses to the spread of the coronavirus.

Students can also wait until May, and the end of the semester, to pick up their belongings. That process will again be coordinated through Residential Life.
