Make a Retreat in Everyday Life

Mission Week is a great time to think about making a retreat in everyday life.  No need to leave home or find prayer time each day.  It just works in the background, while we carry on our real world lives.  The Online Retreat, created for our own faculty and staff.

It is self-guided and easy.  Each week of the 34 weeks – from Sept. 15 to May 15 – offers a simple Guide, about six paragraphs long.  The Guide is intended to be placed in the background of our everyday life.  It is that simple.  Just reading the Guide each week will be a blessing.  To let it interact with the real things in our lives will be a deep blessing, as the we move through what Ignatius called, “growing in spiritual freedom.”  People report being more focused, more aware of what is happening in their lives, and experiencing a closer relationship with a God who loves us and being invited by Jesus to join him in his mission for the world.  The retreat is also in an audio form, allowing us to listen to the Guide and resources each week while driving to and from work, or while exercising, cooking, doing laundry.

Here’s the retreat’s home page:

If you’d like to be on a mailing list, to receive a reminder email each Sunday morning, just email me at

If you’d like to be invited to a lunch, about a month into the retreat, to talk with others about the experience and be supported in the journey, just email me and I’ll send you the details.

May our Lord bless people around the world beginning this retreat this week and everyone on campus who will join in the experience.
