School of Medicine Golden Apple Awards

The School of Medicine students held their annual Golden Apple Awards Banquet on May 4. Each medical student class presented awards recognizing faculty, residents and students who have made a difference in their medical education.

  • The Aesculapian Award was presented to medical students Ferdinand Cacho, Class of 2019; Tyler Badding, Class of 2020; Adrianne Pyle, Class of 2021; and Hunter Allen, Class of 2022.
  • The Golden Apple Award for Resident was awarded to Joe Haggerty, MD, resident, Obstetrics and Gynecology, by the Classes of 2019 and 2020.
  • The Golden Apple Award for Attending Physician went to Faiz Qadri, MD, associate professor, psychiatry, by the Class of 2019, and Melinda Burnett, MD, assistant professor, Neurology, by the Class of 2020.
  • The Golden Apple Award for Faculty was awarded to Michael Del Core, MD, associate dean, Medical Education, from the Class of 2021 and to Kenneth Kramer, PhD, associate professor, Biomedical Sciences, from the Class of 2022.
  • Other awards included The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award to Terence Zach, MD, Chair, Department of Pediatrics; the Special Contribution Award to Yvonne Howland, client support services, School of Medicine.
