DeSimone Speaks at Crime Stoppers USA National Training Conference

Edward DeSimone II, RPh, PhD, FAPhA, professor in the Department of Pharmacy Sciences, was a speaker at the 2021 Crime Stoppers USA National Training Conference. He spoke on the issue of addiction and substance use disorders.

A frequently requested speaker on this issue, he also spoke at a meeting of the Metro Chiefs Association (MCA) based in Omaha. DeSimone is the founding president of Coalition Rx, a community organization whose mission is to reduce the misuse of all substances of abuse by raising awareness and partnering with community organizations to provide public and professional education, prevention and treatment resources, and policy advocacy. Coalition Rx is a community member of the MCCA.

In 2020, DeSimone was honored with the Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Substance Use Disorders SIG, and in 2021 he received the Certificate of Appreciation from the Pain, Palliative Care and Addiction SIG of the American Pharmacists Association.
