Kelly Receives Creighton Global Initiative Grant for Third Time

tom kellyThomas Kelly, PhD, (Professor, Department of Theology, and Director of Academic Service-Learning) received a third Creighton Global Initiative grant, focusing this time on training faculty to provide academic service-learning in their courses. As outgrowth from his 2017 CGI grant that helped deliver crucial community health information to teams working in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Kelly has also been highly involved during 2018 in the Creighton and international scholarly communities. He delivered three scholarly lectures, including one on original research conducted in the Dominican Republic as part of his 2017 CGI grant, and gave six presentations (including one internationally) on aspects of the Jesuit and Catholic mission of Creighton. Moreover, one of Dr. Kelly’s signature programs, a FLPA to Peru that grew out of his 2016 CGI grant, was featured in Creighton Magazine and Creighton Today. Dr. Kelly has received a CGI grant every year since the program’s inception, and has been involved in other successful CGI projects in his areas of expertise.
